Brief Overview:
GROCERY: Kasondra Taylor is one of the store’s
assistant managers. She has military training and medical experience through
the National Guard. Audrey Blair is a young cashier who was working the express
register at the time of the attack. She was just hired last week. Dillon Hernden
is one of our sacker/stockers that just managed to make it inside when
everything went down.
MEAT DEPARTMENT: Freddie is the oldest member of our
group. The second man is the Meat Department; he was running the department
while the main boss Tim was on vacation. A combat veteran, a marine, and an
active duty reservist, Fred has proven already to be invaluable. Luke is one of
the apprentice cutters that works in the Meat Department and Kanen Kraig is the
kid they hired to stock the lunchmeat.
PRODUCE: Tommy Holt is the assistant manager
of the Produce Department. From Claremore, Tommy was ready to sprint to his car
to get back to Claremore but things degenerated down too quickly. Lance Wiggington is a high school senior who
has already graduated from his electrician’s course at Vo-Tech and was in to
help us set the department before going to school. Hunter Woolsman is also a
high school senior that was skipping school and out fishing when all this went
down. He was lucky enough to make it to us before we locked everything down.
Throw me into this group too.
BAKERY: Sharon Massey is the manager of the
bakery department and has quickly become the maternal figure of our group. The
isolated conditions of the perimeter department saved her life. She was locked
inside and safe before she ever knew we were under attack.
HBC: Judy Myers (often referred to as
“Hobbit Judy” to separate her from “Demo Judy”) works in HBC which is all that
miscellaneous stuff in the store that they hang on all the pegs. Health &
Beauty Care. (I think.) Thankfully, she was quick to help Luke lock down the
Grocery back door and keep us all safe.
PHARMACY: Jennifer Brown and Kim Chambers are
the only pharmacy employees that were on site at Zero Hour. They are “Pharmacy
Techs” which means they can fill prescriptions but are not licensed
pharmacists. Still, their knowledge is going to be invaluable. Both chicks are
pretty good looking too. Always a plus.
OFFICE: Janet Chambers is our office manager
who was counting money in a locked office when Zero Hour went down. Mother of
Kim and mother-in-law to Kasondra, Janet has logged over 30 years in Reason’s.
Nolan Lang was assisting Janet in the office at the time of the attack. He is a
twenty-year-old studying to get his cosmetology license. These two might have
been in the safest location of the store.
CUSTOMERS: The following are customers who got
caught shopping during Zero Hour. I am still learning more about them. I think
all of them hit the lottery when it came to being at the right place at the
right time.
Ashlynn Bishop is an accountant for a
local small time insurance agency.
Becca Cason works running the cash
register at a local winery.
Joseph Charles is a heating/air
conditioning repairman who managed to rescue the lady who received a bite on
her hand in the parking lot and got her inside through the south entrance.
Judy Savage is semi-retired and works
down in Tulsa at a Sam’s Club.
Shala Martin is a teacher over at
Ketchum Middle School who had come in to get food during her planning period
for a class assignment.
And lastly, the single most important
survivor in our group (to me): My son, Alex Mathews. He was home sick from
school and made it to us.
